Shortly after Rift Apart's release, fans began shipping the pair and creating fanart and fanfiction. However, this has not prevented the fans of this pairing from showing their support of it. Being one of the newer ships in the fandom, there is currently very little in the way of fan-content. Inversely, some fans DO NOT consider Ratchet and Rivet as the same character and are perfectly OK with this ship. Additionally, fans of the Talchet ship disapprove of this pairing, as they acknowledge Talwyn Apogee as Ratchet's canonical girlfriend. On the one hand, there is an argument to be made that Ratchet and Rivet are dimensional counterparts therefore some fans classify them as the same character. This ship is considered pretty divisive by the community this point is largely down to how the fans view Ratchet and Rivet relative to each other. Eventually, when Emperor Nefarious is defeated, Rivet tells Ratchet that she and Kit are needed in their dimension, to which Ratchet replies 'How would you feel about making a quick pit stop on the way?' When you enter Rivets hideout, theres a Pocket Dimension involving explosive crates. To that end, Rivet goes with Ratchet to his home dimension to stop both Nefarious' from taking over Megalopolis. Realizing that things are getting tense, they both apologize at the same time and prepare to face off with Emperor Nefarious. After she has an argument with Kit, Ratchet confronts Rivet saying that she didn't dissevered to be left behind, resulting in both Lombax's arguing with one another.

At one point, Ratchet is captured along with all of Rivet's friends, forcing her to rescue all of them. Throughout the game afterwards, Ratchet and Rivet have small interactions with each other at certain intervals. At Rivet's request, Ratchet allows her to fight Nefarious instead of him, only for Emperor Nefarious to arrive and steal the Dimensionator. Despite a somewhat awkward first face-to-face, they agree to work together to defeat Dr Nefarious.

Though the call ends up being mostly about planning on how to deal with Dr Nefarious, once the call ends both Ratchet and Rivet exclaim - unknowingly at the same time - 'Woah! Another Lombax!' Once Ratchet has rebuilt the Dimensionator and Rivet has acquired a Blizan Crystal, they meet up for the first time in person, with Rivet awkwardly practicing how she is going to introduce herself to Ratchet. The first time Ratchet and Rivet talk to each other is after Rivet repairs Clank's communicator. Most of these moments suggest that they care about each other, likely because they recognize each other as not only counterparts but also of the same species, something that both characters have minimal experience with. However, they do have some moments of interaction over long distance communication. Furthermore, the two never meet each other directly until the second half of the game, and even then they spend very little time together. As a result, Ratchet hasn't interacted with Rivet as much as other characters in the series. To date, Ratchet and Rivet have only appeared together in Rift Apart - Rivet's debut game in the series. RatchetxRivet is the het ship between Ratchet and Rivet from the Ratchet and Clank fandom.

IвЂ™m excited to announce that Mark is the Composer of the Rift Apart soundtrack! Beyond his work in DEVO, youвЂ™ve likely heard his compositions across the years whether it was in the original three Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter games, as well as animated series like Rugrats, and the blockbuster film: Thor Ragnarok. It is from the (Rock nвЂ™ Roll Hall of Fame nominated) band DEVO, a personal favorite of mine, but, some would say more importantly, the band that the incomparable Mark Mothersbaugh co-founded.

The song we chose for the trailer has special meaning beyond just being a great, exciting track. You saw brand-new locations like Nefarious City, and alternate-dimension twists on old favorites like Sargasso and Torren IV along with a sneak-peak at some new weapons and gameplay mechanics. Yes! We finally revealed her nameвЂ¦ you guessed it! Right?! Rivet is a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension, where the evil Emperor Nefarious hunts all those who oppose him.
